We started Preserve Fenton Mill because our neighborhood is being threatened by a big developer who wants to forever change the nature of our community, simply so that he and his investors can line their pockets.
.
We soon realized, though, that this is a REGIONAL issue. York County, Williamsburg and James City County are being permanently altered by developers intent on turning this area into Anytown, USA.
.
The Historic Triangle is NOT Anytown. Our region has incredible national significance:
And that list barely scratches the surface. That is why it is so important to plan carefully for the future of this region. Our history draws visitors from all over the world. One of the reasons they feel so transported back in time, and visit again, and tell their friends, is that the corridors through which they get to our historic sites have largely been protected from dense development. There is still enough rural ambiance that visitors are able to envision the past. But that rural ambiance is dissolving right before our eyes.
.
Don’t let the greed of developers forever destroy what makes this region so special. Please SHOW UP at the Board of Supervisors meeting on March 16, whether or not you live in York County. This region belongs to us all!
