38.5 MILLION DOLLARS. That will be the cost for additional school space needed if the Fenton Mill Living rezoning is approved. The developer is “very graciously” offering land for a new school. They value it at $800,000. So the the developer offers $800K of land now, but in a few years, ALL YORK COUNTY RESIDENTS GET THE BILL for the remaining 37 million dollars!
This game of smoke and mirrors is how business has been done in York County for years. Our County leaders support these rezonings. Traffic and classroom sizes increase. York residents pay additional real estate taxes and user fees, while the developers laugh to the bank.
Tell our Board of Supervisors you understand the game, and won’t play it any more. Tell them they can no longer deny that the population growth they encourage by REZONING costs the residents money! Here’s their contact information: https://preservefentonmill.org/contact/
